Jack M. Benningfield

Jack M. Benningfield, age 76 of Abbeville, passed away Sunday, November 7 2010 at his residence. Funeral services will be held at 3:00 PM, Wednesday, November 10th in the Abbeville First Baptist Church. Reverend Tony Dixon, Reverend Chuck Taylor and Reverend Hall Dickson will officiate. Interment will be in the Stubbs Cemetery. Mr. Benningfield was born on October 10, 1934 in Birmingham, Alabama. He was son of the late James Corbitt Benningfield and Bertha Dollar Benningfield. He was a retired Civil Service Employee from Robins Air Force Base and was a member of the Abbeville First Baptist Church. He served his country with honor in the United States Air Force. Survivors include: wife-Lillian Benningfield of Abbeville, step-sons-Durham (Viva) Wilcox, Jr. of Abbeville and Leroy (Kathy) Wilcox of Concord, S. C., daughters-Linda (DeanO Taylor of Fort Valley and Donna Bellino of Augusta, step-daughters-Rose Mary Touchton of Abbeville and Deborah (Danny) Rountree of Pitts, sister-Betty Jean (Dale) Bordeau of Abbeville, 12-grandchildren and 6-great-grandchildren. Visitation will be from 6-8 PM Tuesday, November 9th in the funeral home. Frazier and Son Funeral Home in Rochelle is in charge of arrangements
