J. N. "Than" Adams

J. N. “Than” Adams, age 86 of Rochelle, passed away on October 24, 2017 in the company of his family and friends after a lengthy illness.Than was the son of Walter and Mary Jane (Whittle) Adams. He was born on January 13, 1931 in Rochelle. He was preceded in death by his wife of 68 years, Rachael Calhoun Adams.He is survived by daughters-Deborah (Bill) Roberts and Cynthia (Ray) Johnson, sister-Annette (Adams) Mashburn, four grandchildren and 10-great-grandchildren. Than made his living on his farm south of Rochelle, Ga.He was a Christian and member of the Double Run Baptist Church where he served as Chairman of Deacons. Than is remembered as an honorable man whose life long goal was to be counted honorable in the sight of God and in the sight of man. Funeral services will be held at 11:00 AM Friday, October 27, 2017 in the Double Run Baptist Church.Visitation will be from 6-8 PM Thursday, October 26th in the funeral home.Reverend Ray Johnson, Reverend Ed Reeves and Reverend Quillian Barfield will officiate.Interment will be in the family plot in the Double Run Cemetery.
