Ilene Braden, age 67 of Pineview, passed away Wednesday, February 19, 2014 in the Crisp Regional Hospital.Memorial service will be held at 2:00 PM Sunday, February 23rd in the M. G. Frazier Memorial Chapel of Frazier and Son Funeral Home.Reverend Royce Freeman will officiate. Mrs. Braden was born on February 16, 1947 in Cordele.She was daughter of the late Grady Watson and Mary Floree Massey Watson.She had lived in Wilcox County for approximately seven years.She is originally from Cordele.She was a homemaker and of the Baptist Faith.She was a student in the Crisp County School System.She graduated from Crandall Business College in Macon.She was employed at Robins Air Force Base. Ilene loved to cook large family dinners at Thanksgiving and Christmas.She cooked the very best turkey and dressing and great Brunswick stew.She bought Christmas presents for every family member.She loved to decorate her home with a beautiful Christmas tree full of lights.She had a collection of gorgeous Christmas ornaments. Ilene loved to travel with her son, Harold, daughters, Michelle and granddaughter, Robyn Lynn.Her favorite places were Daytona Beach, Disney World, Sea World and Jekyll Island. She loved music shows.She saw the greatest names in music such as Elvis Presley, George Jones, Willie Nelson, Whitney Houston and Gladys Knight.She had a large collection of music recordings that she listened to all the time.She really enjoyed going to Wild Adventures at Valdosta to see the music shows.We would eat at Outback and then go see Charlie Daniels, Vince Gill and Alan Jackson. Ilene will be missed.There are many fond memories left behind.We loved you very much, Ilene. Survivors include:son-Harold (Beverly) Harris of Pitts, daughter-Michelle (Joe) Allen of Ft. Valley, sisters-Marie Simpson of Horse Cade, Kentucky and Margaret Foil of Cordele and two-grandchildren-Robyn Lynn Touchton and Heather Nancy Harris. Royce and Marcene Freeman will sing “Amazing Grace” and “How Great Thou Art”. Frazier and Son Funeral Home in Rochelle has charge of arrangements.
