Mrs. Hilda Mayo Crenshaw, age 91, of Pitts, Georgia, passed away Friday, July 3, 2020, in Northside Villa, Rochelle, Georgia.She was born March 11, 1929 in Pitts (Seville Community) to the late James Edgar and Blanche Viola Sargent Mayo.She was also preceded in death by her husband, George Edward Crenshaw; her brothers: J.W. Mayo, James "Buster" Mayo, Brice Mayo, Lloyd Mayo, and Floyd Mayo; her sisters: Meredith Plummer, Ruby Horton, and Virginia Power.Survivors include her children, Al (Janis) Crenshaw of Pitts, Patricia (Darfus) Holcomb of Pitts, and Donna (Mike) Keeler of Irwinville; her grandchildren, Phillip Crenshaw (Holly), Chuck Musselwhite (Sabrina), Joanna Richardson (Brian), Paul Crenshaw (Susan), Ginger Gillert (Todd), Jessica Taylor (Brian), and Jarrod Musselwhite; great-grandchildren: Mikayla Crenshaw, Cason Crenshaw, Anderson Crenshaw, Wyatt Crenshaw, Ally Carol Taylor, Blake Taylor, Ashley (Jay) Clarke, Amber (Bryce) Lamb, Dalton Richardson, Will Mahnken, Abi Richardson, Gabe Gillert, Anna Gillert, Zoe Gillert, Kenzie Grace Richardson, Allison Musselwhite, and Alana Musselwhite. Hilda received her teacher's degree at Berry College, Mt Berry, GA, where she drove the bus around the campus and many times and carried Martha Berry to her cottage.She taught school in Moultrie, and Wilcox County, and was a member of Union Baptist Church, where she served as Sunday School Teacher, Treasury/Secretary of the Cemetery Fund for many years, a member of the WMU, Choir, and the Ladies Sunday School Class.She also Co-Chair of the Department of Family & Children's Services many years and was Secretary of the Crisp Radio Clinic. She was also a Crisp Regional Hospital Auxiliary volunteer for over 20 years. A graveside service will be held on Monday, July 6th, at 10:00 a.m. in Union Cemetery with Rev. Larry Wilbanks and Rev. Eddie Wilcox officiating. Due to the COVID-19 virus, we kindly ask everyone to please wear a mask and observe social distancing for the service.
