Henry Austin "Buddy" Mitchell

Henry A. "Budddy" Mitchell, age 80 of Abbeville, passed away Thursday, July 19th in the Phoebe Dorminy Medical Center.Funeral services will be held at 11:00 AM Saturday, July 21st in the Christian Hill Free Will Baptist Church.Interment will be in the family plot in the Christian Hill Cemetery. Mr. Mitchell was born on August 9, 1931.He was son of the late James H. Mitchell and Edna E. Gibbs Mitchell.He was a retired Minister and a retired Electrician with the Naval Weapons Station.He was a member of the Siloam Baptist Church and the American Legion Post #71.He served his country with honor in the United States Marine Corps. He was a loving husband and father. Survivors include:wife-Ouida Mithcell of Abbeville, son-Henry Arthur Mitchell of Abbeville, step-sons-Reverend Wayne Martin of Rochelle, Reverend Willie Clyde Martin of Columbus, Ray Martin of Rochelle and Frank Coker of Rochelle, daughter-Cathy McMillan of Rochelle, step-daughters-Joyce Cross of Cross, South Carolina, Vernona Broad of Moncks Corner, South Carolina and Penny Peavy of Dothan, Alabama, brother-Phillip W. Mitchell of Valdosta, sisters-Mary Bruce of Rochelle, Marlene Fickes of Stark City, Missouri and Ann Wood of Abbeville, and numerous grandchildren. Visitation will be from 6-8 PM Friday, July 20th in the funeral home. Frazier and Son Funeral Home in Rochelle is in charge of arrangemets.
