Helen G. Pope, age 96 of Abbeville, passed away Saturday, December 28, 2019 in Glen-Eagle Health Care in Abbeville.Funeral services will be held at 11:00 AM Tuesday, December 31st in the Cannonville Baptist Church.Reverend Joel Owens will officiate.Interment will be in the family plot in the Cannonville Cemetery. Mrs. Pope was born on November 9, 1923 in Pavo, Florida.She was daughter of the late William H. Ginn and Cora NeSmith Ginn.She was a homemaker and the oldest member of the Cannonville Baptist Church. She was preceded in death by her husband, Jessie Thomas Pope. Survivors include:daughters-Judy (Don) Roberts of Abbeville, Memorie (Edwin) Lee of Abbeville and Keema Browning of Abbeville, 5-grandchildren, 9-great-grandchildren and 1-great-great-grandchild. Visitation will be from 6-8 PM Monday, December 30th in the funeral home. In lieu of flowers, the family request donations be made to the Cannonville Baptist Church, C/O Edwin Lee, 627 Wayne Keen Rd., Abbeville, Ga. 31001. Joni Wilson will play prelude and postlude and Tim Moorhouse will sing “Consider the Lilies” and “In the Garden”. Pallbearers will be:Lance and Chaz Martin, Kole Barron, Austin Bradford, Eric Browning and Troy Lee.
