Hazel G. Standridge, age 82 of Abbeville, passed away Saturday, June 21, 2014 in the Crisp Regional Hospital.Funeral services will be held at 11:00 AM Tuesday, June 24th in the First Baptist Church of Rochelle.Reverend Jim Faircloth and Reverend Andy Standridge will officiate.Interment will be in the family plot in the Morningside Cemetery. Mrs. Standridge was born on May 15, 1932 in Dallas, Ga.She was daughter of the late Dewey Gulledge and Nettie Hancock Gulledge.She was a retired Clerk with the Department of Agriculture.She was a member of the First Baptist Church of Rochelle, the Ruth Sunday School Class, the Hazel Chapman Group and the Golden Voices.She was a former Vacation Bible School Director, Sunday School Teacher, Church Clerk and Sunday night BTU Director. She was Chairman of the American Heart Association for Wilcox County, was on the planning Board for Parks and Recreation and was a graduate of Pineview High School.She was preceded in death by a brother, Ray Gulledge and a sister, Mary Brown. Survivors include:Husband-Vernon Standridge of Abbeville, son-Reverend Andy “Drew” Standridge and wife, Sabrina of Hawthorn, Florida, daughters-Joy Standridge Mock and husband, Wayne of Lawrenceville and Gaye Standridge Hayes and husband, John of Americus, grandchildren-Valerie and Victoria Mock, Jackson, Sydney and Emma Hayes. Visitation will be from 6-8 PM Monday, June 23rd in the funeral home. Frazier and Son Funeral Home in Rochelle is in charge of arrangements.
