Harry G. Walker, age 93 of Abbeville, passed away Friday, December 1, 2017 in the Pinewood Manor Nursing and Rehab Center in Hawkinsville.Funeral services will be held at 2:00 PM Sunday, December 3rd in the Abbeville First Baptist Church.Visitation will be one hour before the service from 1-2 PM in the church.Interment will be in the family plot in the Stubbs Cemetery with Military Honors. Mr. Walker was born on October 21, 1924 in Abbeville, Ga.He was son of the late Jacob Wendell Walker and Virginia Lou McAnally Walker.He was an agricultural farmer and a cattle farmer.H was a member of the Abbeville First Baptist Church where he served as a Deacon and Sunday School Teacher and the Wilcox County Farm Bureau.He was a graduate of Abbeville High School and was former member of the Wilcox County Board of Commissioners and the Wilcox County Selective Service Draft Board.He served his country with honor in the United States Army during the Korean Conflict. He was preceded in death by his first wife, Pearl Ledford Walker. Survivors include:wife-Mary Walker of Abbeville, sons-Glenn Walker of Fayetteville and Mike (Debbie) Walker of Conley, daughters-Nancy Futch of Rochelle, Leslie (John) McDonald of Rochelle and Sherry Sangster of Abbeville, sisters-Lorene Keene of Abbeville and Eugenia Anderson of Macon, 14-grandchildren and 25-great-grandchildren.
