Grace Bowman Wilson

ABBEVILLE – Grace Bowman Wilson, 99, died at home on Wednesday, December 2, 2009.The funeral will be at 11:00AM, Saturday, December 5 at Siloam Baptist Church with burial to follow in the Siloam cemetery.Rev. Tommy Baker will officiate. Mrs. Wilson was predeceased by her parents, David and Cornelia Harrell Bowman and five brothers and sisters:Esley Bowman, Minnie Bowman Land, Lillie Mae Bowman Wilson, Edna Bowman Shedd, and Willard Bowman.She was married to Alfred Edwin Wilson for sixty five years before his death in 1999.She is survived by her children, Priscilla Wilson (Donald) Whitman of Abbeville and Rex Bowman (Susette) Wilson of Cobb.She is also survived by five grandchildren:William Patrick (Sherry) Whitman of Fayetteville, Matthew Wilson (Trina) Whitman of Cordele, Melissa Whitman (Bubba) Weldon of Abbeville, Heidi Wilson (Don) Ream of Macon, and Rex Bowman (Natalie) Wilson, Jr. of Atlanta, twelve great-grandchildren and four-great-great-grandchildren, and caregiver and friend, Allie Mae Spurling of Abbeville. Mrs. Wilson was a 1929 graduate of Abbeville High School and she attended Middle Georgia College in Cochran where she was a member of the basketball team.She worked in the garment industry as well as food services in local schools.She was a life long member of Siloam Baptist Church, Macie Keene Circle, and the Martha McCloud Chapter UDC. Visitation will be from 5:00 PM – 7:00 PM Friday, Dec. 4 in the funeral home. Frazier and Son Funeral Home in Rochelle is in charge of arrangements.
