Gloria Cromer Tripp

Gloria Cromer Tripp, age 71, of Abbeville, passed away Monday, November 7, 2022, at her residence.  She was a homemaker and a retired math teacher with the Wilcox County School System, having received her cum laude diploma for UGA bachelors in math in 1973, and specialist degree from Columbus State University, and her Masters from GSW in Americus.   Gloria was a member of the Dogwood Garden Club for many years, a member of the retired teacher association and loved to travel and cook, especially desserts.  She also loved crafts and floral arranging, and was a good dancer.   She was a tutor for many of her former math students, and a member of the Rochelle United Methodist Church.

Gloria was born July 14, 1951, in Perry, Georgia, to the late Lamar Cromer and Helen Taylor Cromer.  She was also deceased by a son, Robert Wayne Tripp, Jr.; and her brother, Hugh Cromer. She is survived by her husband of 50 ½ years, Robert Wayne Tripp; her daughters, Jessica Tripp and Stephanie Conner (Jason); her brothers, Jack Cromer (Jerilyn), and Wilkes Cromer (Teresa); her sisters, Jenny Faircloth (Stan), Jan Morgan (Johnny), Lynn Graham (Keith), Patsy Buendia (Wade), and Ann Daws (Jim); her grandchild, Katie Lynn Conner; several nieces, nephews, great-nieces and great-nephews.

Funeral Services will be held on Thursday, November 10 ^th , at 11:00 a.m. in the Rochelle United Methodist Church with Pastor Eric Sizemore officiating.  Vickie Brown will be providing the music.  Interment will be in the Liberty Hill Cemetery.  Visitation will be from 10:00-11:00 a.m. prior to the service at her church.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made to the Rochelle United Methodist Church, PO Box 472, Rochelle GA 31079, or to the Liberty Hill United Methodist Church, 233 South Broad St., Abbeville GA 31001.
