George Thurmond Futch, age 90 of Rochelle, passed away Wednesday, July 5, 2017 at his residence.Funeral services will be held at 10:00 AM Saturday, July 8th in the First Baptist Church of Rochelle.Reverend David Clark and Pastor Nelson Goddard will officiate.Interment will be in the family plot in the Morningside Cemetery with military honors. Mr. Futch was born on January 26, 1927 in Rochelle.He was son of the late Thomas Amos Futch and Tommie Means Futch.He was a member of the First Baptist Church of Rochelle and was a self-employed farmer.He was preceded in death by a son-George Futch in 2007, 5-brothers and 2-sisters. He served his country with honor in the United States Army during World War II. Survivors include:wife-Tibbie Futch of Rochelle, son-Ed (Deborah) Futch of Rochelle, daughters-Beverly F. Johnson of Pitts and Deborah (Kenneth) Baggett of Coolidge, daughter-in-law-Nancy Futch of Rochelle, 9-grandchildren and 18-great-grandchildren. Visitation will be from 6-8 PM Friday, July 7th in the funeral home. Frazier and Son Funeral Home in Rochelle is in charge of arrangements.
