Ethel Cross Young

Ethel Cross Young, age 78 of Rochelle, passed away Wednesday, August 13, 2014 in the Crisp County Hospital.A Memorial Service will be held at 4:00 PM Sunday, August 17th in the Rochelle United Methodist Church.Visitation will be one hour before the service from 3-4 PM in the church.Pastor Nancylee Cater will officiate. Mrs. Young was born on June 30, 1936 in Rochelle.She was daughter of the late Lloyd Cross and Hartie Ruth Cox Cross.She was a former Real Estate Agent in Colorado Springs, Colorado and was retired from the Marine Base in Albany.She was a member of the Rochelle United Methodist Church.She was preceded in death by her husband, Bob Young and a son, Stephen Young.She served her country with honor in the United States Air Force. Survivors include:son-Lloyd Cross (Kathleen)Young of Albuquerque, NM, daughters-Melanie Y.(Van Sapp) Ramirez of Rochelle and Barbara Y. (Mark)Atherton of Cordele, brothers-Henry Cross of Sylvester, Delette Cross of Washington State and John Cross of Rochelle, sisters-Martha Thompson of Pitts and Margaret Howell of Rochelle, grandchildren-Bob Young, Jennifer Garcia, Corey Ramirez, Lee Ramirez, Jake Young, Johnny Warren, Maggie Atherton, Grace Atherton and Zach Atherton, great-grandchildren-Paige Young, Jude Garcia and Logan Dean Ramirez. Holly Howell will sing "How Great Thou Art" and the congregation will sing "Amazing Grace". Frazier and Son Funeral Home in Rochelle is in charge of arrangements.
