Essie Maxene Jones

Essie “Maxene” Jones aged 86 of Phoenix, AZ, formerly of Wilcox County, passed away Saturday, December 21, 2024.  She grew u p in GA, enlisted in the Air Force at age 18, and later served in the Marine Corps until 1963, achieving the rank of Corporal.  Known as Maxene to friends, and Aunt Macca to family.  She lived in several different places throughout her life, North Carolina, Indiana, California, and Washington State before settling in Phoenix, AZ. She was a member of Fountain of Life Church in Phoenix for 40 + years and retired as a n office manager and tax preparer.  Survivors include her daughter – Sabrina G. Miller, son – Stephen H. Jones, and granddaughters – Faith B. Miller and Sasha Y Jones.

A graveside service will be held at 2:00 PM Saturday, January 18, 2025 in the Seville Cemetery, 394 Odessa Rd., Pitts, Ga. 31072 with military honors.
