Effie S. Harden

Effie S. Harden, age 86 of Abbeville, passed away Thursday, June 30, 2016 in the Taylor Regional Hospital.Funeral services will be held at 11:00 AM Saturday, July 2nd in the Cannonville Baptist Church.Visitation will be one hour before the service from 10-11 AM in the church.Reverend Tim Moorhouse will officiate.Aubrey Wilson will do a eulogy.Interment will be in the Cannonville Cemetery. Mrs. Harden was born on April 19, 1930 in Abbeville, Ga.She was daughter of the late George A. Sheffield and Cora Luther Sheffield.She was a member of the Cannonville Baptist Church and was retired from the Folding Department with the Wilcox Garment Company in Rochelle.She was widower of the late Elton B. Harden. Survivors include-daughters-Carolyn (Jarrell) Walker of Abbeville and Betty Sue (Randolph) Reid of Abbeville, 6-grandchildren-Christy (Ricky) McGilvary, Jay (Mary) Walker, Clay (Keaton) Walker, Derrick Reid, Holly (Steven) Knight, Slade (Kim) Reid, 5-great-grandchildren-Eden, Ally, Ella Walker and Harper and Finn Knight. Pallbearers will be:Ricky McGilvary, Jay and Clay Walker, Derrick and Slade Reid and Steven Knight. Joni Wilson played prelude and postlude and Tim Moorhouse sang "God" Promise Land".
