Effie Lou Gordon, 88, passed away Sunday, January 9, 2022 at Shady Pines Estates, Abbeville, GA.Graveside services will be held at 11:00 a.m., Tuesday, January 11, 2022 in the Morningside Cemetery.The family will receive friends after the service.Due to COVID-19, masks are highly recommended and social distancing maintained. Memorial gifts may be given to the Rochelle United Methodist Church, P.O. Box 472, Rochelle, GA31079. Mrs. Gordon was born in Wilcox County September 25, 1933.She was the daughter of the late Virgil Odis Daniels and Bessie Bowman Daniels.She was the oldest living member of Rochelle United Methodist Church and was a faithful member for over 50 years.After retiring from Continental Telephone Company and leaving Robins Air Force Base she became a full time housewife and caretaker of her grand-children.She enjoyed reading, watching western movies, cooking, visiting with family and going to the Senior Center. Survivors include two children, Johnna Hall, and Graham Gordon (Susie) of Rochelle; four grand-children, Craig Lamb (Ashley), Kayla Hall, John Wilson Gordon, and Ana Claire Gordon, all of Rochelle.Four great-grand-children, Cameron Carroll, Bransen Lamb, Casen Lamb, and Anisten Lamb of Rochelle and numerous nieces and nephews. Mrs. Gordon was preceded in death by her husband John B Gordon, mother and father, two brothers, and 3 sisters. The family may be contacted at her home, 1664 1st Ave., Rochelle.
