Edward L. "Ed" Helms

Mr. Edward L. “Ed” Helms, age 92, of Abbeville, passed away Tuesday, May 17, 2022, at Northside Villa Heath Center, Rochelle. He was retired from the Electronics Department of Robins Air Force Base, an Army veteran, and a Baptist by faith. Mr. Helms was born May 27, 1929, in Abbeville, to the late John Wesley Helms and Abbie Belle Statham Helms. He was also preceded in death by his wife, Mary Fronie Brown Helms. Survivors include his son, Edward “Eddie” Helms; his sister, Jackie Carden; and a grandson, Derek Helms (Miranda). A graveside service will be held on Friday, May 20th, at 11:00 a.m. in Cedar Creek Cemetery, with Rev. Danny Allen officiating. Visitation will follow the service at the gravesite.
