Edith P. Gregory, age 101 of Pitts, passed away Sunday, October 11, 2015 in the Church Home Rehab and Health Center in Ft. Valley.A graveside service will be held at 12:00 PM Wednesday, October 14th in the Union Cemetery.Visitation will be one hour before the service from 11:00 AM-12:00 PM in the Union Baptist Church.Pastor Steve Clifton will officiate.Interment is in the family plot in the Union Cemetery. Mrs. Gregory was born on August 25, 1914 in Ideal, Ga.She was daughter of the late George Clifford Perry and Carrie Stringfellow Perry.She was a Retired School Teacher with the Wilcox County Board of Education and a member of the Union Baptist Church.She was a graduate of State College for Women in Milledgeville.She loved spending time with her family and friends. Survivors include:son-Julian O. “Buster” Gregory, Jr. of Covington, daughters-Gail (Edwin) Byars of Newnan, Patricia Upshaw of Fayetteville and Jane (David) Shell of Byron, 8-grandchildren and 12-great grandchildren also survive. Grandchildren will serve as pallbearers. Flowers will be accepted or donations may be made to the American Cancer Society or the Alzheimer’s Association.
