Edith M. Copeland

Edith M. Copeland, age 92 of Rochelle, passed away Tuesday, October 23, 2012 in the Cordele Health and Rehab Center.Funeral services were held at 2:00 PM Wednesday, October 24, 2012 in the Christian Home Baptist Church. Interment was in the family plot in the Morningside Cemetery. Rev. David Clark officiated.Visitation was from 1:00 PM until 2:00 PM before the service in the church. Mrs. Copeland was born on October 14, 1920 in Ashburn.She was daughter of the late Robert McKinney and Jane Gibbs McKinney. She was a member of the Christian Home Baptist Church and a homemaker. She was preceded in death by a daughter, Marilyn Shoemaker in 1997. Survivors include:sons-W.T. (Louise) Copeland of Rochelle, Stanley (Tillie) Copeland of Rochelle, daughter-Sandra Pate of Cordele, sister-Estelle Williams of Poughquag, N.Y., 9 grandchildren and 15 great-grandchildren. In lieu of flowers the family requested that donations be made to the Christian Home Baptist Church, C/O Betty Carol Helms, 517 Christian Hill Rd., Rochelle, Ga. 31079 Pallbearers were: Mike Copeland, Clay Copeland, Will Massey, Vince Shoemaker, Robert Shoemaker and Bill Weldon. Music was rendered by Beth Bullock and Janis Crenshaw. Frazier and Son Funeral Home in Rochelle was in charge of arrangements.
