Earl Dowdy

Earl Dowdy, age 74 of Abbeville, passed away Monday, May 28, 2018 at his residence.Funeral services will be held at 2:00 PM Thursday, May 31, 2018 at Cannonville Baptist Church, Abbeville, Ga.Visitation will be one hour before the service from 1-2 PM in the church.Reverend David Fisher will officiate.Interment will be in the family plot in the Stubbs Cemetery in Abbeville. Mr. Dowdy was born on September 24, 1943 in Rhine, GA.He was son of the late Walter Dowdy and Eldis Whittington Dowdy.He was retired from Robins Air Force Base Civil Service as a Pattern Maker.He was of the Baptist Faith and served his country with honor in the Army National Guard.He was preceded in death by his wife, Judy Dowdy in 2003 and a daughter, Lorrie Dowdy in 1995. Survivors include:daughter-Wendy (Dennis) Howard of Hawkinsville, brother-Toby “Buddy” (Tiffany) Dowdy of Eastman, sister-Elese (Jimmy) Jones of Milan, grandson-Ben Howard of Hawkinsville and a special friend-Sibbie Terry of Rochelle.
