Dorothy L. Sutton

Dorothy L. Sutton, age 79 of 1030 First Avenue, Rochelle, passed away Monday, October 7, 2013 in the Crisp Health and Rehab.Funeral services will be held at 11:00 AM Thursday, October 10th in the Rochelle United Methodist Church.Reverend Nancylee Cater, Reverend Bill Harris andJames Harpe will officiate.Interment will be in the family plot in the Morningside Cemetery. Mrs. Sutton was born on October 24, 1933 in Rochelle-Owensboro Community where she has lived her entire life.She was daughter of the late Henry Land and Catherine Grantham Land.She was a retired case worker with the Department of Family and Children Services.She was very active in community activities and a very devoted member of the Rochelle United Methodist Church.She was a former member of the Alberta Crummey Garden Club and was an active member in the local Cancer Society to help raise money. She is preceded in death by her husband, Bobby T. Sutton. Survivors include:daughter-Dawn Sutton of Rochelle, sister-Gwendolyn (Leonard) Harpe of Cordele, brother-in-law-Bill (Fran) Sutton of Rochelle, sister-in-laws-Alice Brooks of Rochelle, Dorothy Terry of Pitts, Annette (Ted) Abbott of Dallas and Marion Herring of Centerville, several nieces and nephews. Visitation will be from 6-8 PM Wednesday, October 9th in the funeral home. In lieu of flowers, the family request that donations be made to the Rochelle United Methodist Church, the Crisp Regional Reflections Hospice or the Alzheimers Association.
