David Sheppard

David Sheppard age 71 of Abbeville, passed away Tuesday, October 8, 2019 at his residence.A graveside service will be held at 11:00 AM on Thursday, October 10th in the Stubbs Cemetery.Reverend Mira Barrett and Reverend James Faircloth will officiate.Visitation will follow the service.Interment will be in the Stubbs Cemetery with Military Honors. David was born on May 27, 1948 in Louisville, Ga.He was son of the late Rev. Harold Harrison Sheppard and Lucille Means Sheppard.He was a Rural Mail Carrier with the U. S. Postal Service and was Operator of the Middle Georgia Tree Service and Tip Top Tree Service.He was a graduate of Wilcox County High School in 1966 and attended South Georgia Technical College. He served his country with honors in the United States Army with two tours during the Vietnam Era where he was a Door Gunner on Helicopters.He was a member of the Methodist Faith. Survivors include:wife-Elaine Sheppard of Abbeville, son-Shannon Sheppard of Abbeville, brother-Richard (Susan) Sheppard of Waynesboro and sisters-Donnie (Mira) Barrett of Portal and Jan Pike of Newnan. In lieu of flowers the family request that donations be made to the Abbeville United Methodist Church, 233 Broad St., Abbeville, Ga. 31001. Frazier and Son Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
