Dan G. Allen, age 88 of Abbeville, passed away Friday, April 3, 2020 at his residence.A private graveside service will be held at Siloam Cemetery.A Celebration of Life Service will be held at a later date. Mr. Allen was born on November 1, 1931 in Abbeville, Ga.He was son of the late Henry W. Allen and Martha Tomberlin Allen.He was a member of the Siloam Baptist Church and the Siloam Brotherhood, and was recognized as the oldest living deacon at Siloam in October 2019.He was employed in the Maintenance Department at Miami Seaquarium from 1955-1970, and retired from the Maintenance Department with Gilman Building Products Company, Fitzgerald.He served his country with honor in the United States Marine Corps, and lived a Godly life and was the perfect example of what a Christian man should be.He was preceded in death by his wife, Louise Allen and a daughter, Elaine Shedd, brother-Martin Allen, sister-Sara Taylor. Survivors include:son-Danny (Roxanne) Allen of Rochelle, daughters-Martha (Tim) Hobbs of Moultrie and Nancy (Andy) Munden of Owensboro, son-in-law-Johnny Shedd, 9-grandchildren and 22-great-grandchildren.
