Colquitt Studstill

Colquitt Studstill, age 101,of Abbeville, passed away Monday, June 9, 2014 at his residence.Funeral services will be held at 2:00 PM Wednesday, June 11th in the Abbeville United Methodist Church.Visitation will be one hour before the service from 1-2 PM in the church.Reverend Debbie Cone will officiate.Interment will be in the family plot in the Lebanon Cemetery. Mr. Studstill was born on December 29, 1912 in Rhine, Ga.He was son of the late John Colquitt Studstill and Suzanna Mizell Studstill.He was a retired farmer and school teacher with the Wilcox County School System.He was the oldest member of the Abbeville United Methodist Church.He was a 1937 graduate of Berry College in Rome and received his teaching degree from Mercer University in Macon.He served his country with honor in the United States Army/Air Force during World War II. Survivors include:wife-Gladys Studstill of Abbeville, sons-Gordon (Liz) Studstill of Abbeville and Joseph (JoJo) Studstill of Abbeville, 4-grandchildren-Matthew, John, Caleb and Anthony Studstill. In lieu of flowers, the family request that donations be made to the Abbeville United Methodist Church, 233 South Broad St., Abbeville, Ga. 31001. Frazier and Son Funeral Home in Rochelle is in charge of arrangements.
