Charles F. Greene, age 77 of 737 5th Avenue, Rochelle, passed away Sunday, January 20, 2013.Funeral services will be held at 2:00 PM Tuesday, January 22nd in the Tabernacle Baptist Church.Reverend Ralph Griffin and Reverend David Fisher will officiate.Interment will be in the family plot in the Morningside Cemetery. Mr. Greene was born on November 20, 1935 in Ocilla.He was son of the late Robert Bailey Greene and Elda Young Greene.He was a very devoted member and deacon at the Tabernacle Baptist Church.He was a former policeman and dispatcher with the Rochelle Police Department.He was a very devoted husband, father, grandfather and great-grandfather.He enjoyed life to its’s fullest and could always lift a person up when they were feeling down because he always said something nice and humorous.He served his country with honor in the United States National Guard.He was preceded in death by a brother, Bailey (Dot) Greene. Survivors include:wife-Jeanne Greene of Rochelle, sons-Tony (Denise) Greene of Rochelle and Eddie (Diana) Greene of Warner Robins, brothers-Herman Greene of Rochelle and Carrell Greene of Ocilla, grandchildren-Bridgett Clements, Casey Greene,Anthony Greene, Ashley Howard and Joel Greene, and great-grandchildren-Haylyn Howard, Keagan Howard and Callie Clements. Visitation will be from 6-8 PM on Monday, January 21st in the funeral home. Frazier and Son Funeral Home in Rochelle is in charge of arrangements.
