Celia R. Gibbs

Celia R. Gibbs, age 95 of Rochelle, passed away Sunday, April 26, 2015 in Crossview Care Center.Funeral services will be held Thursday, April 30th at 11:00 AM in the Tabernacle Baptist Church.Reverend Ralph Griffin and Reverend David Fisher will officiate.Interment will be in the family plot in the Pleasant Grove Cemetery. Mrs. Gibbs was born on March 6, 1920 in Rochelle, Ga.She was daughter of the late Andrew Jackson Richey and Abbie Mae Livingston Richey.She was a member of Tabernacle Baptist Church and former Inspector at Cordele Uniform.She was preceded in death by a son, J. L. Gibbs in 2010.She was the widow of Raleigh Vernon Gibbs. Survivors include:son-Raleigh J. Gibbs of Rochelle, 6-grandchildren, 11-great-grandchildren and 8-great-great-grandchildren. Visitation will be from 6-8 PM Wednesday, April 29thin the funeral home. Pallbearers will be grandsons and great-grandsons. Tara Shedd will play prelude and postlude.Kay Cornell and Lynn Bloodworth will sing “Lilly of the Valley” and “Stroll Over Heaven”. Frazier and Son Funeral Home in Rochelle is in charge of arrangements.
