Carl Sercer, Sr., age 87 of Rochelle, passed away Saturday, August 17, 2019 in the Phoebe Putney Memorial Hospital.Funeral services will be held at 11:00 AM Tuesday, August 20th in the Rochelle United Methodist Church.Reverend Eric Sizemore and Reverend Scott Hatten will officiate.Interment will be in the family plot in the Morningside Cemetery with Military Honors and Masonic Rites. Mr. Sercer was born on May 29, 1932 in Warner Robins, Ga.He was son of the late Joe Sercer and Georgia Black Sercer.He was a member of the Rochelle United Methodist Church, the Rochelle Masonic Lodge #190, the Wilcox Chapter American Post #71 and the Wilcox County Farm Bureau.He was a self-employed logger and served his country with honor in the United States Army during the Korean Conflict.He was preceded in death by his wife, Gladys Sercer. Survivors include:sons-Carl (Sarah) Sercer of Rochelle and Jerry (Chris) Sercer of Rochelle, 4-grandchildren and 8-great-grandchildren. Visitation will be from 6-8 PM Monday, August 19th in the funeral home.
