Bobby Thomas Holliday, Sr., age 84, of Rochelle, Ga., passed away Friday, July 5, 2019 in the Houston Medical Center, Warner Robins, Ga.Graveside services will be held at 11:00 a.m., Monday, July 8th, in the Morningside Cemetery will full Military Rites.Rev. Danny Allen and Rev. Richard Compton will officiate. Mr. Holliday was born September 24, 1934, in Rochelle, to the late Thomas and Lois Cook Holliday.He was a Loan Officer with the United States Department of Agriculture and was a member of the First Baptist Church of Rochelle and the Bible Sunday School Class.He served his country with honors in the United States Marine Corp from 1955-1959 where he received the Good Conduct Medal, Expert Rifleman and Pistol Badge, Certificate in the One Billion Club in Support of Vietnam Bomber and Fighter Combat Operations and Certificate from the Pentagon for helping with the Cold War.He also served with honors in the United State Air Force from 1959-1975 where he received the Air Force Commendation Medal, Outstanding Unit Award, Good Conduct Award, and Small Arms Expert. Besides his parents, he was also preceded in death by a sister, Mary Joy Paulk.Survivors include his wife, Wanda Orr Holliday who he married August 1, 1959; a daughter, Tanya LaJoy Copeland (Mike); a son, Bobby Thomas Holliday, Jr. (Julie Anne) all of Rochelle; a brother, Cook Holliday (Sandra) of Monroe; a sister, Margaret Pearce of Rochelle; his grandchildren: Jennifer Holliday, Chelsey Broadaway (Dustin), Hannah Bates(Chris), Chanley Copeland, Abby Holliday; and his great-grandchildren, Brennen Thomas Holliday and Henley Anne Bates. In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made to the American Cancer Society, or the First Baptist Church of Rochelle, or to Gideons International.
