B.J. Bruce

B.J. Bruce, age 86, of Rochelle, passed away Saturday, December 72019, in the Crisp Regional Hospital, Cordele, Ga.He was a retired certified diesel mechanic for Schwerman Trucking Co. in Clinchfield, and a member of Christian Hill Free Will Baptist Church. Mr. Bruce was born April 2, 1933, in Ashburn, Ga., to the late Edward Wood Bruce and Lou Alice Davis Bruce.He was also preceded in death by a son, Barry Bruce in 1992. Survivors include his wife, Mary Mitchell Bruce; his sons, James W. Bruce of Hinesville, David Bruce of Cochran, and Mike Bruce of Rochelle; a daughter, Vickie Capps (Michael) of Baconton; a brother, Troy Bruce (Janie) of Vienna; his grandchildren, Candie Rogers, Clay Capps, Jamie Bruce, Leigh Fletcher, Melissa Ratley; and seven great-grandchildren. Funeral services will be Monday, at 2:00 p.m. in Christian Hill Free Will Baptist Church, with visitation beginning at 1:00 p.m. in the church social hall.Rev. Wayne Martin and Rev. Jacob Martin will officiate.Interment will be in Christian Hill Cemetery. Frazier and Son Funeral Home is in charge of the arrangements.
