Betty F. Brown

Betty F. Brown, age 104, passed away Tuesday, December 31, 2024 at her residence.  A graveside service will be held at 11:00 AM Saturday, January 4, 2025 at Morningside Cemetery.  Reverend Richard Compton will officiate.  Visitation will be Friday, January 3rd from 6-8 PM at Frazier and Son Funeral Home.

Mrs. Brown was born on December 5, 1920 in Rochelle, Ga.  She was the daughter of the late Henry S. Fitzgerald and Thelma Sutton Fitzgerald.  She was a Retired Educator with the Wilcox County School System and was Co-Owner of Mashburn & Fitzgerald.  She was a member of the First Baptist Church of Rochelle where she was a former Sunday School Teacher.  After graduating from Rochelle High School, she attended and was a graduate of Shorter College. She earned a Master’s Degree from Valdosta State College. She was preceded in death by husbands, Lt. Joseph Ernest Moore, Jr. and M. D. Brown, Sr., son, M. David Brown, Jr., and brother, Herbert Fitzgerald.

Survivors include sons Dr. Joseph O. Moore (Alice), Royal F. Brown, and Freddy Brown (Glenda), daughter-in-law Jan F. Brown, grandchildren Laura Roe (Matt), Kelly DiTrapani (Francois), Andrea Healy (Shannon), Madison D. Brown III (Amanda), Luke F. Brown, Caroline Brown, Argent Brown-Hollingsworth (Bobby), and Toria Brown, and 7 great-grandchildren.

The family requests that in lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the Friends of Morningside Cemetery Trust, P. O. Box 156, Rochelle, Ga. 31079.

Frazier and Son Funeral and Cremation Services is in charge of arrangements.
