Ashford Conner

Ashford "Bud" Conner age 77 of 1543 Melba Rd.,Pitts, Ga. passed away Sunday, September 28, 2008 at his residence. Funeral services will be held at 3:00 PM Wednesday, October 1, 2008 in the Pleasant Grove Baptist Church. Rev. Tom Camp and Rev. Billy Forrest will officiate. Interment will be in the Pitts Cemetery with Military Rites. Mr. Conner was born on September 18, 1931 in Wilcox County. He was son of the late Albert H. Conner and Minnie Lee Gibbs Conner. He was a retired Inspector with Civil Service Robins Air Force Base and was a member of the Pleasant Grove Baptist Church. He served his country with honor in the United States Army during the Korean Conflict. Survivors include: Wife-Melba Conner of Pitts, sons-Jeff (Rhonda Smith) Conner of Rochelle and Ronnie (Debbie) Conner of Abbeville, daughters- Vikki (Edwin) Clark of Rochelle and Lisa (Jeff) Bolter of Lakeland, Florida, brother- George H. Conner of Pitts and sister- Ouidafa Smith of Ashburn, 6-grandchildren and 3-great grandchildren. Visitation will be from 6-8 PM Tuesday in the funeral home. In lieu of flowers please make donations to the Crisp Regional Hospice, 910 5th. St. North, Cordele, Ga. 31015. Frazier and Son Funeral Home in Rochelle has charge of arrangements.
