Allen Fitzgerald, age 80 of 1775 First Avenue, Rochelle passed away Friday, December 5, 2008 at his residence.Funeral services will be held at 2:00 PM Sunday, December 7, 2008 in the First Avenue Baptist Church in Rochelle with the Rev. John Pate, Jr. officiating.Interment will be in the Morningside Cemetery. Mr. Fitzgerald was born on April 10, 1928 in Irwin County having moved to Rochelle in 1942.He was son of the late Arthur William Fitzgerald and Judy Louella Whittle Fitzgerald.He was Owner-Operator of the Wilcox Builders Supply and a graduate of Riverside Military Academy.He was a member and deacon at First Avenue Baptist Church where he taught the Young Boy’s Sunday School Class.He was a very big promoter in the Boy Scouts and was a former member of the Rochelle Lions Club. Survivors include:wife-Juanita Hunter Fitzgerald of Rochelle, son-Allen (Wanda) Fitzgerald, Jr. of Milledgeville, daughters-Judy (Ronnie) Willcox of Rochelle and Candi (Luke) Daniel of Mexico Beach, Florida, 1-granddaughter-Hunter Daniel, 3-grandsons-Josh Willcox, Brandon Shell, and Will Fitzgerald, and 1-great-grandchild-Jaeleb Willcox. The family will receive friends from 4-6 PM Saturday, December 6, 2008 at the residence, 1775 First Avenue, Rochelle. In lieu of flowers, the family request donations be made to the charity of choice.
